Meet Ms. Briel
I am
currently in my 10th year of teaching Social Studies at the High School level. I have taught a plethora of subjects, including
Government, International Relations, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, World Religions, World History, and U.S.
History. I spent four years at Elon University, a liberal arts school in North Carolina, and then continued on in a Master's degree program at the University of Delaware. I am currently taking classes (full time) at UD for my doctorate in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Educational
Technology.
I also mentor two new teachers in a professional development cluster, am a member of the Social Studies
Council of Delaware and the Humanities Council for the Caesar Rodney School District. I have spent the last two years at the helm of a committee to align our district's curriculum to the DRC
(Delaware Recommended Curriculum).
Outside of the classroom I enjoy working out (competing in triathlons, half
marathons, and full marathons). I train at the local CrossFit Dover affiliate, where I focus on conditioning, endurance, agility, etc.
I also like to read, spend time at the beach,
and most importantly travel. I have been to Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, including countries such as Senegal, Jordan,
Germany, England, France, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic (not to mention a few others)!
